Student Council
The Student Council of Jeppiaar University is a professional student body that serves as a representative platform for students and functions as an integral part of the University’s organizational structure. The Student Council provides students with opportunities to participate in institutional activities, develop leadership and organizational skills, and contribute to the academic, cultural, sports, and co-curricular development of the University.
The Student Council comprises designated student representatives, including the Academic Secretary, Sports Secretary, and Cultural Secretaries, supported by a dedicated team to plan and organize major University events, student activities, and initiatives in coordination with the Faculty Coordinator and concerned University authorities.
Objectives
- Represent the interests, ideas, suggestions, and concerns of the student community.
- Promote active student participation in academic, cultural, sports, technical, and co-curricular activities.
- Develop leadership, teamwork, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills among students.
- Organize and coordinate major University events, celebrations, competitions, cultural programmes, and sports activities.
- Encourage creativity, innovation, talent, and active participation among students.
- Foster a sense of responsibility, discipline, teamwork, inclusiveness, and institutional belonging.
- Provide a structured platform for communication and constructive interaction between students and the University administration.
- Support initiatives that contribute to student welfare, campus engagement, and a positive learning environment.
- Encourage students to participate in social responsibility and community engagement activities.
- Ensure that student activities are conducted in accordance with University rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines.

Responsibilities of the Student Council Members
- Represent the student community responsibly and communicate student suggestions and concerns to the appropriate University authorities.
- Plan, coordinate, and support the conduct of major University events and student activities.
- Work under the guidance of the Faculty Coordinator and coordinate with faculty members and University authorities for the effective execution of programmes.
- Coordinate academic, cultural, sports, and co-curricular activities through the respective student secretaries.
- Assist in organizing cultural festivals, sports meets, technical events, student competitions, celebrations, and other institutional programmes.
- Encourage and facilitate student participation in various academic and co-curricular activities.
- Coordinate student volunteers and ensure discipline and teamwork during University events.
- Assist in preparing event plans, schedules, volunteer teams, and necessary documentation.
- Ensure that all student activities are conducted with due approval and in accordance with University policies and procedures.
- Collect feedback and suggestions from students and communicate relevant matters to the concerned authorities.
- Maintain appropriate records of Student Council activities, events, participation, and achievements.
- Promote leadership, teamwork, responsibility, mutual respect, and active student engagement.
- Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the University authorities for the effective functioning of the Student Council.
Role of the Faculty Coordinator
- Guide the Student Council in planning and executing student activities and major events.
- Facilitate communication between student representatives, faculty members, and University administration.
- Review and coordinate event proposals, schedules, and activity plans.
- Ensure that student activities comply with University rules, regulations, and approved procedures.
- Monitor the overall functioning of the Student Council and provide necessary guidance to student representatives.
- Support students in developing leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Maintain coordination and documentation related to Student Council activities.
