The cell is committed to orderly maintaining the university community profound in boosting moral, respect, fairness, harmony and equal opportunity, In fully align with UGC Anti-Discrimination Policies (act 2012), Jeppiaar university enforces comprehensive institutional policies that prohibit any form of discrimination across all areas of operations in the field of academic’s /professional participation.

Roles and Responsibilities of Anti-discrimination Committee

Policy ensures that all student decisions are based solely on skills, qualifications, and regulated abilities required for the academics to be performed. The policy explicitly prohibits  discrimination based on caste ,ethnicity, race, color, religion, gender, age, social status, or physical or mental disability, ensuring mainly on equal access to career advancement opportunities.

Institutional Commitment

The University’s Code of Conduct Policy reinforces this principle at all institutional level, stating that committed to the highest level of integrity and honesty in all its affairs, without any kind of bias , discrimination against women/men.  Our university is dedication to nourishing an inclusive, equitable, and respectful environment for all members of community , including — faculty, staff’s, and students.

  • committee will provide/assessment on positive work and learning environment where all individuals are treated fairly with respect and decent manner. Bullying, threats and harassment, ragging, intimidating, political grievance have no place in university premises.
  • It is sole responsibility of the committee to utilize its resources under UGC guidance towards the formation of quality academics and to provide a friendly campus environment, promote’ s understanding on inclusivity and tolerance. which is conducive to peaceful learning and personality development, Interactions among students, faculty, and staff should reflect mutual respect and professionalism.
  • No political symbolism displays, group gatherings for supporting political parties ,  no de-venerable/vulgar displays or psycho-activity substance abusive are strictly prohibited inside the university or sited premises. 
  • A student enrolled at our university assumes full obligation to behave well and comply with the University’s function/regulations as stipulated by educational institution. The Jeppiaar Code of Student Conduct generally shall be limited to conduct within the University premises,  and university supervised functions. However, the  immediate action against discriminatory practices with administration may take appropriate action against students for conduct on or off University premises in order to protect the physical safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. On given circumstances conduct, for which students are subject to sanctions, is described in detail in the University Code of Student Conduct as described above.
  • Whenever required committee will support students to participate in counseling, social awareness programs designed to enhance the welfare of behavioral attitude and amplify the interactions, disciplinary activities, moral/phycological support.
  • Committee will take all possible measure’s to ensure identify the discrimination , root cause , case study of the intensity , risk assessments and reducing the threat index by mitigating in inducing/applying the supportive code of conduct or introducing special category codes to avoid repetitive discriminations.
  • All students are encouraged to Submit detailed reports to the head of anti – discrimination committee ( Para Form Attached ) and their suggestions.

The following sanctions shall/may be imposed upon any student found to have violated/breached the student defined code of conduct by the university.

1. Warning: A writing notice to the student, involved in violating or has violated more than once (1) the sanctions may be imposed for any single violation within the scope of institutional regulations.

 

2. Probation: A written warning for violation of specified regulations. Probation is for a described for specific period of time and includes the probability of more severe actions if the student is found to be violating any institutional regulation(s) during the probationary period.

 

3. Restitution: Responsible students will fully compensation for loss, damage or injury to the University or University property. This might take fully appropriate monetary or material replacement.

 

4. Loss of Privileges: Permanent/temporary denial of specified privileges for a designated period of time.

 

5. University Dismissal: An involuntary student separation from the institution for misconduct apart from academic requirements. It does not impose or state any minimum separation time.

 

6. Suspension : Eviction of the student from the University for a in-definite period of time, after which the student is eligible to return. Conditions for readmission may be specified and determined Soley by the head of department’s.

 

7. Temporary Suspension: A College Dean/HOD or designee may at any time temporarily suspend or deny readmission, his/her examinations (semester/final assessment exams), other academic actives  to a student from the University pending formal procedures when the Dean/HOD finds and believes from available information that the presence of a student on campus would seriously disrupt the University or constitute a danger to the health, safety or welfare of members of the University community. The appropriate procedure to determine the future status of the student will be initiated within ten 10 calendar days.

 

8. Permanently expelled : Permanent expulsion of the student from the University, when required with legal/lawful defense

 

9. Housing / Hostel : Removal of the student from university housing/ hostel or other student’s university services.

 

10. Confiscating: Withholding the student’s diploma/certifications until their case is resolved for any of the above allegations outlined in Jeppiaar student code of conduct policy for proven allegations.

 

11. Organization :  impose Sanction against a member of a student organization or the student organization as a whole, such as a temporary or permanent loss of rights or privileges.
