DR J VERONICA SHALINI

Professor & Dean

Dr. Veronica Shalini is a passionate Professor working with multidisciplinary approach in School of Sciences and Allied Health Science at Jeppiaar University. She received her Ph.D. from Madras University in the year 2005 and her Masters and Bachelor’s from Bharathidasan University. Her doctoral work took over a time period of five years of intense research work on Epithelial Cancer Mucin Biology and Human Papilloma Virus Infection in Uterine Cervical Cancer Patients from Cancer Research Division Lab in Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum. The cancer research model developed by her was highly phenomenal in connecting Dr. Veronica with bench to bedside cancer research. This study enabled her research protocols to get grants from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai and from Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR). Her research work was published in notable National and International journals of Gynaecologic Oncology, The Cancer Journal, Current Science and Indian Journal of Cancer. Besides having about 25 peer-reviewed research publications to her credit, she has authored two articles in the Education Page of the dailies The Hindu and The Times of India. Her teaching expertise ranges from the fields of Molecular Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Biology, Microbiology, Viral Biology to Cancer Biology & Cancer Research. During her tenure of mentoring, she edifies the students’ minds to fit the expectations of the biomedical industries. Most of her students are well placed globally in leading pharma industries besides few of them pursuing their bioscience research and gaining doctoral degrees in cancer research abroad. The prime tasks such as access to foreign language course training, eligibility test models to study post graduate courses in foreign universities with good scores and information about the opportunities and scholarships by the abroad universities are the additional upskills provided by Dr Veronica through out-sourcing leading consultants. She is a life member in professional bodies such as Indian Association of Cancer Research, Indian Society of Cell Biology and in Society for Biotechnologists (India).

Mr. K. PRASANNA M.Tech. (Biotechnology)

Mr. K. PRASANNA had completed B.Tech (Biotechnology) from Prathyusha Institute of Technology and Management, affiliated to Anna University by 2013, M.Tech (Biotechnology) From Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology, affiliated to Anna University with Distinction by 2015, PG Diploma in Diary Technology from Annamalai University by 2015. Currently holding a position as Assistant Professor, in the School of Sciences and Allied Health Science, Jeppiaar University. Presently working on the research areas of medicinal plants, alternate fuel production from marine Biomass and Production of Mushroom (Edible and Medicinal). He has published 6 research papers in peer reviewed journals and 5 research papers in Conference Proceeding Publications and contributed to academic knowledge by guiding student’s research projects. To add a additional feather in his cap, He has Co-Authored a Book Titiled “Environmental Science and Studies” published by Charulatha Publications. To his academic and research Credentials, Mr. Prasanna K has presented 24 research papers at National and International Conferences, 3 research papers and posters in International Conferences and participated in 9 seminars / 8 workshops to enhance his scientific knowledge. He provides significant support to his department colleagues and peers by taking up the key responsibility of department exam cell assignments and he is also observed to work as a meticulous NAAC Co-ordinator - IQAC member and he is also a life member in the professional society of Biotech Research Society of India (BRSI).

Ms.P.Ashwini M.Tech. (Biotechnology)

Ms.P.Ashwini had completed B.Tech (Biotechnology) in 2016 and M.Tech (Biotechnology) in 2018 from Karunya University with Distinction. Currently holding a position as Assistant Professor, School of Sciences and Allied Health Science, Jeppiaar University. Her research area of interests includes pharmacological activities of medicinal Plants, Plant Biotechnology and Cancer Biology & Therapeutics. She has published a research paper – Book Chapter in peer reviewed journals and 2 research papers in conference proceeding publications and contributed to academic Knowledge by guiding student’s research projects. She contributes her best by taking up the responsibilities and tasks of Internal Student Affairs

Mr.A.Lawrence Justin M.Sc. M.Phil

Mr. Lawrence Justin.A, completed his Master of Philosophy degree from St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli, Bharathidasan University, Tamil Nadu (TN), India and Master's degree (M.Sc.) at Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, St. Joseph's College, Tamil Nadu (TN), India. Possessing over 17 years of expertise in academia at several reputable institutions he also excelled as an additional COE of SNS College of Engineering, Head of Discipline, Admission Officer and in various capacities to enhance academic activities. His Research articles are published in reputable, peer-reviewed national and international journals. He has authored the book titled “Organic Chemistry” and published a patent for Indian designs. Research area includes Water technology, Environmental science, Polymer chemistry, and Organic chemistry.

Assistant Professor

Ms. K A Gopika graduated her UG and PG Forensic Science Degrees from Jain University. She has working experience as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Forensic Science in a prominent forensic institute for the past 3 years and currently holding a position of Assistant Professor, School of Sciences and Allied Health Science, Jeppiaar University. She has worked with various police officials during the period as Intern as well as an expert in real time crime scene experiences. She is richly experienced to set up a basic Forensic Science laboratory according to university set-ups.
